MUOH Esports
Worked as a Forger of Miami University Esports to design the front page for the program. This page helps potential students and their families explore what the program has to offer, connect with the coaches, and keep up with news and schedules from the teams.

Current Status
Miami University Esports already ranks among the top esports collegiate programs, but we noticed several peer institutions had launched dedicated esports sites well before us. When we reviewed their pages, most lived as small subsections of the main university website, adopting its overall tone and layout to stay on-brand.
While embedding esports under the primary site can project a unified, professional image to prospective students and families, we felt it risked burying key details and losing reader interest. We believed there was a more engaging way to weave essential facts and narrative flow throughout the page.
Almost universally, these pages open with a brief recap of past achievements or program highlights
Then shift into longer sections outlining facilities, course offerings, and student resources.
Define Esports
So we turned to where everything began, esports organizations. Their websites grab you with bold, high-impact visuals and intuitive graphics that let fans absorb key info at a glance—no long blocks of text required. We aimed to bring that same visual energy to our program page.

The Approach
Creating everything from scratch was definitely a challenge, but we decided to launch at redhawks.gg instead of nesting our department pages under the university’s main site. This standalone URL not only signals to visitors that they’re entering a dedicated esports platform with its own distinct tone and look, but also gives us full control over branding and user experience without academic website constraints. The choice of “.gg”- shorts for “good game” in gaming context - over “.com” is a convention embraced by many esports organizations.
Hero banner contains brief information about past achievements and a Call-to-Action button.
News and Upcoming Matches update give visitors a reason to return.
Embedding the Twitch channel and social links makes the page more interactive.
I also designed the join landing page of the ETBD Department and MUOH Esports at the PAX event.
